A medium sized hen needs 4 sq. ft. of indoor floor space. Your coop should have at least 56 sq. ft. for that many. The run should be at least 140 sq. ft. Also, scratch should be used as a 'treat,' not as feed.

So basically, you keep them in a barn 24/7? No outdoors at all?

Yes I let them out every couple days
