I understand about the price. I just bought a 4x8 1/4 sheet of plywood for $32.00 !! Two dollars shy of premium 3/4 birch plywood last year!

I know. Lumber prices have gotten insane. Treated 2x4x8 used to be around $2.50 each. Went and bought some the other day and it cost $8.67 each.

Our prices are similar. It is shocking to see such an increase.

Same sticker shock for us. We needed 9 pieces of 2x6 treated wood and spent nearly $200.

It really is crazy. This chicken pen build cost me way more than what it would have costed me just a few years ago. I recently just built a 10x16 shelter for goats with a 1ft overhang on all sides. Haven't even put walls on it yet and it cost $694 and that's not including screws and nails.

Since this is a new chicken pen, I decided to buy a new nest box since my other 2 have clearly seen better days. I ordered an 8 hole nest box from Duncan Poultry which showed up this past weekend. Got it put together yesterday and will try and get it hung up this weekend. I also bought a 50lb feeder that mounts on the wall from them as well I am going to get set up.
