I am building a homemade chicken plucker. I ordered fingers for the plucker that are 2.5 inches in total length. After buying them, I saw that some come almost 4 inches in length, but the 4" ones are very expensive. Will the 2.5" ones I have be long enough to do a good job on large broiler chickens? I am using quite a large barrel for the plucker.

Good question. I have no idea for sure, but I'll bump for you.

I'd go look and see how long the fingers are on the YardBird plucker - they're one of the best pluckers out there. I'd think the 4" would work better because they're more flexible. I don't think you'll be as happy with the 2" ones. But you can try it and see.
