Chicken Pluckers

I concur, the 181 does a good job of plucking feathers, but the supplied wheels are indeed insufficient, as are the thin capture nuts welded into the legs. We welded 1/2" thick, by 1 1/2" square strut nuts (3/8th thread) in line with the existing nuts, then used 4" locking wheels. Now the unit is easily moved about.

Got my ez today. Pick it up at the freight company. Save 260.00 by, picking it up myself.

We have a plucker. It's an EX plucker and it did cost us $600. We did 12 turkeys in it and it did AMAZING. Our turkeys ranged from 9lbs to 40lbs. We did ducks but that was so gross I'd never do it again. I can't even describe what it does to ducks. Barf. Anyway, going to use it for chickens for the first time this year but with how well it did the turkeys we're happy.

Ok. It's gross. lol So after scalding the ducks and throwing them it it just... Well their bills right. lol This is gross. So the bills start turning kind of like cooked squid. So it's rubbery but limp and they were kind of shredded a bit and it was really quite hideous to look at. Really hideous. I chopped their heads off and threw them away before I could even look at taking pin feathers or gutting. The head was just so awful looking....
