Since I got Quinn and Aspen, I've been feeling guilty about spending so much time with them and not as much with the laying flock...

Me too, the buttons are really tiny, right?

You're gonna need a bigger 'bator.........

I have a homemade incubator that can hold oh...around 300-400 chicken eggs and who knows how many quail eggs! Then I have a 1588 Genesis Hova-Bator - it can hold around 50 chicken eggs and 120 quail eggs ( w/ the turners ) nah..this one "Might" help keep my addiction down..do you think!?

Go to "search" at top of page and Check out "Jazzy in the Christmas Spirit" thread by Chickenzoo. Lots of good Emu information. She's a friend of mine and knows her stuff, so I trust what she says on the subject. She also has one emu egg for sale right now........

I sent Chickenzoo a PM. If everything goes as planned next month and I get a Brinsea 380...I WILL hatch some emus! I just need to learn everything I can about them first!

I'm collecting some of my eggs for the bator.

Dont tell anyone. So far I have some EE, FBCM, and bantam lav ameraucana eggs set aside. I want more lav eggs, but they are not laying really well right now.

Anyway, if I do this incubating thing right, and they actually hatch, I will have some EE, olive eggers, and the bantam lavs. The olive eggers will be split lav, I'm going to try and get some lav olive eggers eventually. Sounds like a fun project!

Maybe I'll ask you to hatch bantam lavs for me instead!

We can meet halfway (for lunch of course) and swap some chickies!

ETA: I'm researching it! I need another critter like a hole in the head...but I am intrigued! Would love for our farm to be a destination for people to see/feed the animals.
