Hey IdealisticRoo

You said that your Cinnamon Queens when you were younger were more golden/red than brown. I have a fourth GSL that I didn't show you because she was behind the fence in that picture

Meet Flutter. Does she look like your Cinnamon Queens did?

I remember my Cinnamon Queens as being Flutter's color at the head and neck and fading and getting gradually lighter towards the tail. I will go through the photo albums and my old 4-H stuff and see if I can find pictures of them. Thank you for posting her picture!

Anybody know what the little pullet in the middle is? She is a rich sable color. I got her, another pullet just like her and 8 others from a lady who had ordered a pullet surprise from Ideal.

I am hoping she is a Barnevelder or a Welsummer!

daisy, i kept my chickens and my ducks together last year and it was no good. the ducks make the water dirty, they play in it. if you want to put them together, buy those water feeders that are high from the ground, don't let the ducks to play with the water that chickens drink. and also, my chickens didn't let the ducks to eat during the day. i had to feed my ducks at night, after the chickens went to sleep. and the ducks need more room than chickens, other words they start to peek one to each other. but this was my experience, with 70 chickens (i bought 140, but this is another story...) and 39 ducks into a small yard and an even smaller coop.

Thanks jenny

That is what I have heard. I know the ducks are messy messy messy. I have decided against ducks for a while until I get a better idea on how I am going to handle the geese.

The geese are great and messy too, but they have their own space and they don't have to share with chickens. If I had more room or another coop already built I would for sure get some ducks. Maybe I will save it for next spring when all of my young chickens are grown and I can see how much room I have left. If only I could buy all the neighbors land and have lots of room.

Are your BO's good quality, or hatchery?

Can I see some pictures of them?

They are from Privett Hatchery, I hatched out a few babies from them and they look alot better than their parents. I have a BO rooster in the pen right now and he is around 6-7 Months old and still growing!

He is already up to my knee!! I'll try to get some pictures when I go to gather eggs in a bit.

Better as in they meet the SOP better? I don't think that they can breed and it just come that way; how old are the chicks?

Jenny...that advice will help me too. My ducks are coming in tomorrow or Thursday. Not sure what I was thinking! If I ordered 12 (or was it 11) is that difficult to manage? It seemed like so little a number when I placed the order!

And Chandra...I have a huge farm surrounding my property that is for sale.

100+ acres with big storage barns and produce stand. He's asking $600K for it, which is A LOT for our area.

It is sitting there mocking me...oh how I wish I could buy it. I can't imagine the world of trouble I'd be in, though, if I did!!! All the animals and pasture I could play with!
