Chicken (Poultry) Addiction Anonymous *Chat Thread*

I need to go to TSC this morning to pick up another trough brooder for the duckies. They are making a MESS of the chicks that are with them. AND, I swear they have doubled in size in the past 4 days! I will be staying FAR away from the chickies and ducks they have there!

My will power is fine, I can go into TSC and go ho hum, more chickies. Mainly because I can think of at home we have HOW many we are planning for...

DH on his own has decent will power.

HOWEVER - DH with our DDs. The girls do not yet have the will power. I think the 14 y/o does until she holds them. But the 6 and 3 y/os? Nope, none at all. And Daddy with his little girls going "Daddy, can we get ......." winds up with bringing home way too many. And pray tell WHY did they get EEs when the prior EEs were a evil, horrible, mean Roo and the dumbest freaking hens ever put on the face of the earth. I mean freaking dumb as rocks, but that's an insult to the rocks intelligence.

I give up. So long as he builds the coops required.

My local enabler/BYC friend/addiction helper delivered lots and lots and lots of creatures to my house this morning!! I honestly am not sure of exactly how many!

I think there are 10 ducklings and about 38 chicks. Bantam chicks and ducklings are sooooooo cute! As soon as I get the chaos under control around here I will take some pics.

I need help figuring out the ducks. I am pretty sure we have 3 cayugas and the other 7 I am not sure of. I am hoping the blueish ones are Blue Swedish because I really wanted some of those. Ok I will be back with pics.....must go check on all the babies!

Yeah and remember I had talked myself out of getting ducks......yeah well when my enabler offers to go pick them up and deliver them then of course I can't resist!!

Trust me if you have a delivery person you can really really feed your addiction!

Our goose who is broody has taken over the ducklings. Oh well, fine. The nice thing is that the filthy pigs, I mean ducklings, are now out of the brooder and the goose is HAPPY as all get out.
