chicken math we can have as many as 10 chickens in our city. We really wanted two, and were told we really needed to have three, because they are so social. We were then told to get 4 so we don't have 2 picking on 1. Then my husband saw the brahma and fell in love. So currently we are the owners of 4 week old chicks looking for a brahma and still trying to get our coop into our yard from the neighbors yard. Hopefully it will all add up before the chicks need to go outside into the coop.

Hi, my name is Star....this weekend I get to try chicks for the first time. She's bringing me 4. I promise I will limit myself to that.

My chicken math is growing... now somehow I have 23. just 2 days ago I had 21. Went to the feed store just to get FEED... really I swear. Even told DH that as we were walking in

Said hmmm those are nice, we don't have any Minorcas. But did I ask for them?... nope... my hubby has become an enabler.. he said Well, why don't you get 1 or 2??

Oh, and I almost forgot... Did I mention that all these are chicks not chickens? So... I don't have any yet, I better get busy!!

We had 10 and due to unfortunate events (preditors) we are down to 4 so I went and got 6 new babies. Then tonight I went to get dog food and fell in love w/ this little chick I saw. Know my hubby would kill me for getting more, I talked them into selling me just the one and then I snuck her in under my shirt w/ the groceries and slipped her into the brooder box!

"what hunny? there's a 7th chick? Hmmm wonder where it came from??

Sadly we had to get rid of our roo a couple days ago, (happily relocated and strutting his stuff) But there are a few eggs we have left in there that could still be fertile and we are hoping that our hen that is acting like she's going broody will sit on them! Gonna try to coax her into it..... and then maybe we'll have more!
