So sorry about the predators.

Thanks.... I might just have to move to a farm before it's over! I love my chickies!

Yes pit bull neighbor dogs that find ways into your fenced back yard and hawks and possums are not good!

We've cought the possums and hopefully the dog will not return. (found a small space he got in) so that leaves us w/ the darn hawks. I let them out to free range when I'm home only and when we hear the hawks out and about we heard them back into the coop!

Hey guys! Just wanted to drop by and give y'all an update:
The Buff Orpington girls are almost three months old,
Tiny, the Red Sex Link, is giving me one egg EVERY day,
My Red Brown Cochin, Louie, is happy as ever and being very protective over his hens,
Our mutt, Cory Roose, has been very aggressive to ALL of the hens and I'm making another phone call today to have him taken away from here,
And Guiness the Guinea is surprisingly super happy with the chickens. She loves them very much and likes to hang out with the BOs.

Thanks for listening!

My guineas loved my chickens TOO much. We tried to coop them up separately when there were too many for one coop and OMG the racket. Non stop hollering for those chickens. I finally said FINE! You want to all stuff in this one coop GO FOR IT.

My guineas beat up my chickens, my chickens cower in the corner when a guinea walks past...

I'm hopeing since I got rid of 3 mean Lav males and a female that the other guineas will calm down, but I doubt it. The females are just as "sweet" as can be, but the males are a different matter.

I think it's because I had a LOT of guineas.. the guinea expert on byc says you need at least 10 to keep them from picking on the chickens. I had 17. I loved my guineas, but the noise level was just too much. They are really goofy birds tho and would greet me in my driveway every day honking non stop.
