Hello Fellow Addicts

I'm fixing to start building (sorta) a big poultry barn/building. I currently have a 12' x 40 ' Sea Container, what I plan to do is build at least 10 runs on one of the sides, and in the inside have a coop (ranging from small, medium, large, x-large, depending on what breed and how many there are.) attached to each run. On the other side, I plan on having a fairly large pen/run for all the juveniles I hatch. I also want to have plenty of storage space for feeders, waters, medications, etc. I used to have aloto of quail, but I recently sold almost all of them so I have an empty metal barn/shed that I plan on keeping my feed and bedding in. I might even have brooders in there, depending on how many chicks keep from my hatches.

I'm also going to design brooders, broody boxes, nesting boxes, etc, that fits my needs.

I'm really excited about getting to build a poultry facility the way I want!

Once I get that built, I can move all my pretty Sussex out of the yard, along with all the juvenile chicks I have out at the barn. Then the only thing I'll have in the yard will be the Peachicks. I may even move some of them out to the barn latter on, and just keep my favorite pair/trio up in the yard...but we shall see.

Some cool up and coming pullets in my latest batch. Started snapping pics while we were out skunk proofing the coop.

Some highlights:

This one is such a cute little hen - about 2/3 the size of the others and stubby. She's got the bushiest black beard too.

Plus her comb can't decide what it wants to be. She's EExCochin.

You must have NN's! I insist! I wish I had eggs for the party or I'd push some of those on you. Oh, btw, I think I have ANOTHER broody. She sees the chicks from my BLRW and now she's sitting in a corner all mopey. grrrr.

I've got others in that coop - a bunch of brahmas, light and dark (love those), more NN, more SS and some mystery chickens. Two Langshans I can't figure out the gender on but assuming girls until proven otherwise and one confirmed roo. Whew! The weird EE in pic #1 is so cute and stubby and she's even got wattles with that black beard.

Now if they would just start laying eggs. several are close, as you can tell.
