I am glad to see I am not the only one with a chicken addiction.
I dream about chickens, I have hatchery catalogs and chicken books next to my bed.
It started in March with 7 E.E. pullets (which I kept 6 and are laying nicely), then I ordered 50 more chicks (Black Australorps, N.H. Reds and the famous 99 cent bantam special from Ideal). Now these guys are getting old enough to tell apart and I have started selling them locally for $5 a chick! I have kept the nicest ones and the bantam hens. SO of course I need more!
I just ordered (less than 20 minutes ago) Ideal Poultry's
SURPRISE SPECIAL PULLETS 25 pullets, delivered for only $45! SO here again, if I wait until they are about a month old, then I can pick out my favorites and sell the rest! They will be shipped on Dec. 1st!
I spend hours in the insulated and heated "chicken room" in the garage watching the babies. The only time I go to town is to buy food, bedding or treats for them. I forget to eat, because I am so busy watching them!
Here I sit at 9:30 at night, eyes gleaming, posting on a forum admitting a chicken addition!
I sure am glad I never tried drugs!
