So, what are some ambitions for this year?

Chickens and ducks aside, I will be training our alpacas in agility and furthering their halter training so I can comfortably walk them around town! I have a little Bichon Frise/Silky Yorkshire Terrier pup that seriously needs training. This summer we plan on getting the kids their own kayaks so we can go up to the Adirondacks, camp and kayak our way through the chain lakes. A lady I gave a few chickens to said she would take us sailing as a thank you. Her husband builds boats, so I'm excited...I've never been sailing before.

I have a few seed catalogues I need to go through...we built a gorgeous rock wall garden at the front of our property and because I have a beige thumb, I don't hold out much hope for the perennials I planted last year! Of course, I'll say I want to exercise more and eat better...chocolate gets the better of me!

And on the absolute top of my list is our kitchen DEMO/remodel! This has been 3 years coming.

Back to the farm...I want a few more chickens, some ducks and a couple of goats! And a bigger farm so I can get a few mini horses.

What about the rest of you? Big plans for the year 2011?

Fun fun! Lots to do!

Not BIG plans

Buying some Buff Orpington chicks sometime in late February or early March; Some family wants to take my family on a trip to Disney World, but I'm having a problem with that situation; Lots of birthdays in April and May (including mine

); Family's annual 4th of July party (fireworks, giant water slide for the kids, pool, fishing contests, etc.); Sometime in June some family wants to take my family to Alaska; Earlier this year (don't know when) my dad wants to take my family to Arizona; ...And lots more

I'm having a hard time though because I am NOT good with vacations out of my state (or even more than a two hour trip) because of a problem I have.

Anyways...

I named 2011 "The Year of Less", for me, at least. I WILL get by with less, spend less, complain less and procrastinate less, all so that I can DO MORE, SAVE MORE, LIVE MORE and BE MORE!

I encourage others to celebrate the lesson that the harder economic times can teach us - We CAN get by with less and still flourish! I love hearing depression-era stories (especially about chickens in the depression) and realizing that we today do not know what hard times are!

Let's make 2011 the best year ever!
