are they acting sick? I have a vial of tylan 50 and a vial of injectible pcn here just in case but thankfully I haven't had to use it yet. Did you inject into the breast? Of course I am used to giving infections, but that is to humans and the occasional cat.

Yes...I was giving them Duramycin. It wasn't helping. I lost one Blue OE pullet.

Raspy/gurgling breathing, droopy eyes, runny noses, coughing, sneezing. I bought the Tylan 50 for the BCM pullet that had the swollen wattles/foamy mouth. My friend Bailey gave me instructions over facebook how to give it. I just didn't want to hurt the birds. I gave the shot in their right breast muscle. I'll alternate to their left tonight.

I get to go pick up my chicks today !

Although dad is driving insane ! Who knew I need a battle plan to get chicks ready hours before we even leave.....
Which way are we going ?
What are you putting them in ?
How long is this going to take ?
How many are we getting ?
How much is it going to cost ?
Which vehicle are we taking ?

Wish he would stop asking questions

My name is Jackie and I have an addiction to chickens, just chickens, no ducks or any other type of bird, thank goodness ! I currently have five Rosecombs, 7 Bantam Cochins, 3 Silkie/Bantam Cochin mixes, 1 Buff Brahma, 9 Silkies and a pair of Red Jungle Fowl. I have no intentions of downsizing, BUT I do have good intentions of upsizing drastically. LOL
