3 of the chicks pipped last night. I had 1 pip this morning. And I am waiting on the other 4 to do something! It is nerve wracking. I have to occupy myself with something else so I don't just stand there and stare!

I'm doing the same thing. I'm gonna see if my mom can take me shopping today to pass the time. Every country-teen's dream. New chicks and clothes all in one day.

She says no new clothes, but that we can drive to a chicken lovers store to get some leg bands for the chicks.

Nope. I can still hear them rolling a bit. Especially the BR's and the one living RIR. I'm only gonna open the bator to retrieve chicks. Come on chickies, you can do it! Peck! Peck! Peck! Peep! Scream your little lungs out!

I'm gonna go hard-boil some eggs.

I just combined the little barnevelders with the slightly bigger barnevelders.... They are cute for the first few days... alright they are cute for a while.

It has gotten to the point now where its "ok ya'll hurry up and grow up so I can tell which of ya are hens and whos a roo" ( and for your information little chickies I know ya'll were st. run, but two of ya'll are roosters and the others are hens... sorry no you can't have a choice its already been decided

) And after that point its going to be.... Alright ladies hurry up and start laying, and before you know it I will be sneaking eggs to hatch and start the cycle all over again.....

This whole addiction thing is such a ruff cycle.... maybe its a little worse this time around because I did not hatch these and I am going through incubator withdrawal !

Well last night I almost had a heart attack ...

Around 11:00 last night the electricity went off for two hours!

I had to bring my 26 eggs in the living room by the fire for the whole time to keep them warm I had thermometer in the pan w/ them and it "Said" it stayed around 100 so

that they're okay!

I have chicks hatching out tomorrow and the next day sooo.....really nerve racking!!!
