Maybe I'll ask you to hatch bantam lavs for me instead!

We can meet halfway (for lunch of course) and swap some chickies!

ETA: I'm researching it! I need another critter like a hole in the head...but I am intrigued! Would love for our farm to be a destination for people to see/feed the animals.

Well I dont have it yet lol. Its coming next week.

But I'm getting ready!!

Well we could do that, couldnt we

I'll put as many of the lav eggs in there as I can. I still want to ship some to you though! Hopefully the little boogers will start laying really well again, so I can get them out to you. Should I put some eggs from you in the bator too? I'm debating, hmmmmm. I think it will hold quite a few, its a LG still air. I hatched some eggs in a cardboard box with a heat lamp before, so I think I can figure out a real incubator lol.

You should do it! How fun would that be, to have a bunch of different animals! Theres a place like that here by me, they have a ton of differnt animals on thier farm, they sell some too, they have everything you could imagine, even foxes!

I have nat's OE eggs in the bator now, if anyone is interested in any chicks. Assuming something hatches that is.

My little NY chicks are doing well. Still can't guess gender yet, tho - although my frizzle cochins are probably boys (almost no feathers). I have one chick with a small head spot so hopefully that means girl - and a bunch of BLRW, three splash. Not as much to do today so maybe I will take chick pics.

Hubby says I can have an emu if I want one. Umm, I think I'll pass for now.

hey, anyone have any thoughts on what my roo is? everyone thought he was a cochin when he was a baby, but he really doesn't look very cochin-ish. Maybe just a poor hatchery quality? He was in a big mix of eggs. Sorry about the bad pic - forgot my flash was turned off while I was roaming around outside.

If he nanages to 'knock up' one of my girls before I have to rehome him I'm curious to see what I get.

Hi featherz! Youre down farther south in NY than me! Did you get walloped with the snow? We did, I am so ready for spring!

I'm not sure what your roo is! He sure is pretty though, He looks blue. He looks like a mix of something though lol. Not sure what, he kind of looks like my FBCM, with body shape etc, but he has really feathered legs like a cochin would have.

He was in a group of maran eggs as well. I had maran (b/b/sp) and cuckoo), one cochin, and a few others that I know he was not. I figured he was a blue/red maran, but then he started looking very floofy so I thought maybe he was my one cochin egg. He's only 16 weeks old and he's huge! But he doesn't have the round cochin rump so he's either a cross, not a cochin, or just a hatchery something. My egg seller has kinda 'iffy' birds.

I like spring, I just wish it would STAY spring. Last year it was SO hot that it was worse of a pain than all this snow! We only got about 10 inches on the last go around.

a baby pic..

He looks like a BCM crossed with a cochin. He's a big fatty!

Your DH says you can have an EMU! That was unexpected!
