Yah, I am on vacation from March 12-20 so somewhere in there. I'll take *anything* except bantams and silkies although I'd prefer EE's. Just let me know what you have and what you'd like for them. Otherwise there's a local seller who has a great variety of mutts but she seems to throw all roos whenever I hatch out her eggs. Last time I had four hens out of 24 chicks. Yikes! Great hatch rate, however.

I had a chick order in for that week but I am concerned it will still be too cold. Didn't want to risk the chickies.

I will hook you up with some EE's. I have some from a mix of Buff Ameraucana and New Hampshire that feather in strawberry blonde. Soooooo cute!!! Plus some others. Let's try for meeting on a Saturday...during the week gets to be too hard.

Ok this is the way I have it figured my last chicks hatched feb. 4th and 5th sooooooooo..... if I put in 30 eggs today they should hatch on mar 11th that gives the last batch 4 more weeks in the big brroder box because the new ones will be inside in small brooder cage then to the shop in the big brooder box they will be in there til they get about 6 weeks old so the last batch will be close to 3 months old giving me time to build a big grow out pen with a top for outside because to weather will be really nice by then I THINK IT WILL

I think it may be an Exchequer Leghorn, the coloring matches the chick picture on Ideal's website, I will try and get some better pictures!

IdealisticRoo: Silver is looking beautiful! I hope it's a girl! I just stuck lavender eggs in the bator. If I get an extra roo you could have a pair!!!

I love your brooder idea and the safety spot for the little ones. Oh and Eyebrows is cute too. I should take a picture of one of the black ones I kept. It's name is Bubba.
big_smile.png
It is so fluffy and fat it just walks around slow and it doesn't try to jump onto their little roost I gave them. My kids always say "Bubba don't jump" in a deep voice and then we laugh like crazy. Even if it's a girl it will still be Bubba.

Here is Bubba at one day old.

Please take a picture of the Lavender chicks you kept!
Any chance of one of them being a rooster and being available? I am trying to only have 1 age group, which means NO MORE BABY CHICKS! (we'll see how long that lasts!)

I am getting over-run with roosters!

The rooster roster:

Whitey, White EE (currently offered on here and Craigslist for FREE)
Buddy, Black Australorp
Little Man, OEGB

And then, there are 17 chicks in the brooder that are straight run

7 Lavender Ameraucana/ Silkie mixes I got from you
5 assorted Polish
2 I hatched, one of which is a RUMPLESS Araucana and will HAVE to be kept even if it is a roo!
1 Silver Phoenix (must keep if boy)
1 Red shouldered Yokohama (must keep if boy)
1 BBR Cubalaya (must keep if boy, but hoping it will be a girl so it will lay cubes, get it? CUBA LAYA

I have no idea if any of these lavenders I have are roosters. You know none of them are pure Ameraucana. I have lots of 5 toes and feather legs and some with combo of a rose comb and silkie type comb so I can't tell at all if the are girls or boys. If you give them 1 more week I might be able to pick one for you. You know me and my fear of getting rid of a pullet especially if it is a lavender.

I promise if I have a lavender rooster out of this age group ( 2 week olds) it is yours!

I know they are NOT pure Lavender Ameraucanas, but then again, I am NOT a purist lol I love mutts!

Whenever is good for you!

When do your other chicks come?

I am loving these Spitzaubens! They have SOOO much personality! Any pictures of yours handy?

C'mon, I know you are right next to a brooder with a camera and a computer!

I am alone in a freezing cold office with no chickens to keep me company. I have brought chickens to work before, but I don't like to move chicks for fear of stressing them and the older birds are MESSY!

e.t.a NOT
