(kidding, kind of, but those of us who are Lavender Ameraucana chick impaired must live vicariously through Lavender chick owners, and we will use strange and wonderful methods of getting the pictures!)

And here's a little something for ewe's guise!

Once there was a REALLY smart sheep who knew how to make butter and buttermilk. One night she snuck out of the barnyard and got a job working for a neighboring farmer, who set up a roadside stand and told her to try to sell the stuff. Unfortunately traffic was very heavy and the sight of this sheep making butter and buttermilk was so distracting that naturally there was an accident.

The police investigated and issued the farmer a citation for making an illegal ewe churn on a busy highway.

I'm trying my darndest to NOT open the bator yet! They'll likely get mixed up and we'll never know!

5 pure Lavender Ameraucanas out. I'm waiting for those darn Wheatens. 3 have been in the same pip position for hours now. C'mon Wheaties!

I went to the pet store today to get some stuff and looked at the cute button quail in the cages as I did my shopping. Well I noticed they had eggs just sitting on the bottom of the cage. I couldn't stand it, I went and asked the store lady

Me: what do you do with your button quail eggs?
Her: They laid eggs, I didn't know they would do that.
Me: So they have never done this before.
Her: Nope, and I just cleaned their cage so those must of just been laid this morning.
Me: So what are you going to do with them?
Her: throw them away.
Me: Can I have them?
Her: sure take them.

So I just brought home 2 tiny little button quail eggs.

I have no idea why, but I just couldn't stand for them to be thrown away. So now off I go to read on how many days these little buggers take to hatch. If they hatch my youngest son will get his wish and will have birds in his room. Good thing nothing else laid an egg while I was in there or I probably would of came home with it too.
