Uhhhh.... I need either an intervention or a group hug of acceptance here, folks. I just bid on some auctions. Actual, real, competitive bids. I still have eggs in 'bators. Plus chicks in brooders.

I have 2 brooders full, a chick order in the mail, and eggs coming from 2 different places.

So I am no the best person to ask for an intervention.

I'm throwing together a cooler-incubator. I got some 'OE eggs from a friend this morning and since my wooden incubator stopped working I didn't have any more room in my HB or my Brinsea..so

that I have an awesome hatch rate in my cooler - incubator!! Please keep your figers crossed for my hatch!!

YOWSA!! I thought I was nuts with my 40 eggs.

Are you going to sell the chicks or keep them?

I'm hatching a few ducks for a lady. The rest are mine. I will likely send 90% down the road! The Marans, Isa Brown/JG's a few OE's, SOME ducks, and all of the Ameraucanas I will keep....oh and a few Bantam EE's, cause those eggs will be great to do Christmas crafts with!

I likely won't be keeping the Turkeys (lilac and midget whites), and if the Sebbie goose eggs are viable, they will likely go to a good home too. Right now, I'm seeing if I can cure my hatching addiction!

Muggs you will have to keep us posted on how the new bator does with the variety pack you have in there. I would love to live vicariously through you.

What kind of duck eggs are you hatching?? How is the brooding of your other ducklings going?? Mine are crazy messy but I really think I love ducks!!!!


On another note.....how do you all deal with mean roosters. Ughhhhh my Lav. Ameraucana is sooooo mean to me. He chased me completely out of the hen house today and I had to wait for DH to come home so I could feed the rest of the babies in the coop!!!!! I am taking his spurs off this weekend for sure and then I am going to try and be brave and stand up to him more and get him to stop!! I am such a chicken when it comes to roosters running after me!! If I want to have any chance at selling hatching eggs I have got to figure out how to deal with Roosters!!!! Muggs, do your roosters ever give you problems?????
