Chicken (Poultry) Addiction Anonymous *Chat Thread*

Temporary setup, but wanted to share. The bantam Lav Ams and bantam EEs and one lil LF Wheaten Ameraucana are snuggling with the Sebastopol goslings. This group is so precious!

Snuggle them and make friends with them now and you will LOVE how much they bond to you. Mine come running when they see me and it is the cutest thing! Congrats on the hatch! The chicken babies are cute as well! Love it!

Meagan a darker one and a lighter one on the goslings??? I can't tell for sure by the picture??? But if so I would say that would mean a boy and a girl!! A PAIR !!!

I hope it turns out that way, then you can have babies!

Yes! Thank you for noticing! I was looking online, but couldn't find where I would be able to tell. Jean Ribbeck also just told me I have one boy, one girl!

And my friend found info on feathersite that if it is dark, it is female, and if light it is a male. Phew. This could be an awesome thing! How old are your goslings now? And, when do they usually start laying? I still have a lot to learn about them!

My geese are 9 weeks old now. Since geese lay only seasonal like Spring time I think it depends on when they are hatched. Mine were hatched in Feb. SO I am guessing they won't lay until early next Spring, so they would be 1 year old. Yours may lay when they are a little under a year old because of them being hatched now. I have heard 9 months is a good target age.

Ha ha ha! This is exactly what I don't know about geese! I do have the appropriate food for them though! We'll see how the rest goes. I love that you are going through similar things with your poultry, I can learn from you. Hmmm...I see an "educator" badge in your future!!!

I love that face! It looks like the gosling's like, "yeah, they're my siblings. Now don't question it"

And good news! Aspen, Quinn, and Midge are pretty much integrated into the Ladies' flock!

They're all in the same run right now, and when I let them out earlier, Poppy ran out with Quinn and Midge! NOT chasing them! Just strutting with them! And yeah, POPPY! The ALPHA!
