Are you going to be hatching guineas again? I can't remember where we left off!

Sure, I'll hatch guineas again if you'll take some

. My hubby wants me to - he really liked our guineas and wants more but I am still undecided - fortunately they are really popular around here due to all the ticks!

I have someone here that breeds them, but they don't have lavender...which of course is the color I'd love to end up with! Go figure! If you can get your hands on Lav Guinea eggs, I'd definitely swap some keets for fertile eggs of mine!

I have just gotten my first blue eggs this week since March!

Once warmer weather started coming and daylight was increasing, I pulled all of the lights from the coop. Apparently, the girls had their way of telling me what they thought of that!

This week, 5 Split Lav/Lav Ameraucana eggs and 1 Wheaten Ameraucana egg! Woot! I need to start collecting for egg decorating, but I have back orders to fill first! I love that everyone has been so patient with me. I can't wait to send out the good news that eggs will be coming soon!

I'll see if I can find some. I sold a pile of lavender guineas and they might be laying by now. You have to try hatching some keets - I hatched keets before I tried hatching chicks and I thought the chicks were sick when they broke out of the shell compared to guineas - keets break out in a run like 'where's the party!' and go warp speed from that point on. Crazy little things, but they are cute.

Congrats! I want blue eggs! I was just bemoaning that the chickens in my back coop seem to have stopped laying until I found that my broody somehow stole all the eggs. Not sure how she got them into her nest area, but she managed it. Grr. And silly me never marked the eggs! Just was out there with a sharpie marking them all. Not sure what you do when a broody has eggs that are seven days apart? Guess I better have an incubator ready, eh?

The ducks are getting big! Fast! They aren't as cuddly or social with me and my family, so I truly feel they will be easy to use as dinner. What kind of ducks did you get? And, 33 at once?!?
