Had quite an adventure this morning!

I decided to let Romeo the peacock out, and as soon as I do our milkcows start chasing him around their pen then he runs off into the back pasture and then trys to run to the neighbors property and then runs out into the field and trys to go to the cow pasture..then FINALLy after like an hour of chasing him around we finally got him back into the coop and boy did I shut that door!

I'm all peeped out....

Birthing stall of my barn acting as my brooding center. My order has arrived with Juvenile chickens. They are all about 3 months old as I try to avoid baby chicks as I guess I'm a bit lazy, lol or I want them to hurry up and grow. I order from all over the place who certifie purebred chickens. I also broke down and when I picked up the last batch nearby my farm and got some free adult, White Giant Hens too which "Stupid" will get if he'll come out and play.

Today it was 105 outside, what a FuN day!...not

I moved 7 older juvenile chicks in w/ my Buff Orpingtons, CM, and Romeo the peacock. They settled in nicely and the hens didn't even pay them any mind.

I'm hoping we can kill a bunch of unwanted roosters sometime this week (

), then I'll be able to move some of my broody hens and chicks out to the coop ( they're almost 2 m/o ).

I have around 60 more eggs in the 'bator. 3 pea-eggs are due this Friday ( 5/27). Then 4 more are due 6/2. I really hope I get somemore peachicks! The two I have are such fun! Oh, I found out they're both India Blues, which will be a change. But I t'was hoping a least one would be white so Romeo wouldn't be a loner. Oh, well.

Guess how many eggs I got today?....1!! And guess who layed it?..One of the Sussex hens..*Big Sigh*

Okay, I can't blame them (

) , it was 105 today and they needed a break, right?

Thats what you get with living in the Panhandle of Texas. It was 73 and with a cool breeze today.

Is this girl cool or what? (And don't say 'what!').. Hahaha.. Too bad my hatch has more roos than hens. Pretty sure this is a girl and love the colors!
