Chicken processing event - Washington State -June 4th, 2011

Any room for a couple observers? We're in Rochester and I'd like to see how this is done for future reference.

Yup, cheaper motel (Microtel In Elma, WA) 8 miles away.

Had a few cancellations. If you are interested in just observing, or going whole hog and pitching in, there is some room. Feathers fly at 9am.

Cool!

Ours went well. One thing we noticed was the difference in output of organic feed, and basic grower feed. 65 birds ordered between the two folks, all from Welp, same order. 45 raised here on pasture with grower feed. 8x8 tractors, 20+ birds each. 20 birds raised on pasture, movable electric fence, organic feed.

My biggest bird dressed, 8.5 lbs.

His biggest bird dressed, 6.75lbs.

All birds raised 10.5 weeks. I'll weigh, mark, and track each bird tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure we'll have a 7.5lb average, dressed.

8.5...awesome.

A great PacNW day for your event.

I think those Santaria follks have it right. Sacrifice a chicken or two, or 66, and good things happen. You have me to thank for the weather today.
