Chicken Quilt Block Swap---BLOCKS ARE IN THE MAIL!!!

Ya'll are much further along than me. I've got the background squares cut. Same for the Spring Block swap.

I've done the needle turn. Still do it on some projects, but since I learned how to applique on the machine....... I don't use any wonder-under or anything other "glue" most times unless it is a little bitty peice I need to say in place why I sew. Most time I use a regular ol' kids "glue stick". Dab it just enough to hold it to get it stitched. It washes out.

I've cut my combs/beaks (same for all of them) and assembled a "trial" square. I'll be doing more over the weekend, going to try to get that and the spring swap together.

I thought someone mentioned glue stick earlier...I might give that a try. Do you just trace each piece right on to the fabric to cut it out then?

Hey Coyote - This sewing thing is keeping me busy in a good way. I just thought I'd mention that considering the circumstances......I might not be able to do all of the blocks.....I do have six cut out and ready to applique'. But I don't know when my surgery is, but I'll work around that. My goal is to do them all, but I'm not sure it will happen that way. Since the date for having them all done is May, and I'll probably be home doing sewing instead of heavy stuff, it might work out anyway. Just thought I'd let you know.

I stock piled tons of crafty projects for while I was recovering...It was such a guilt(or is that quilt?) free time to do what I wanted to do, without even a worry about explaining my goofing off. But you are wise to think ahead and not worry about putting pressure on yourself. Could someone maybe split your commitment to the number of blocks? I don't know if that is normally done, but maybe 24 is too many for someone else to do but 12 is do able.

So....

I'm in the middle of ironing (using fusing on the smaller pieces) and my 5 yr old walks up... "Mommy, did you know there's a chicken dance?"... So I start showing him the funky chicken... I spin around, and there is mr saddi laughing so hard he's crying.....

Darn man set me up!
