I was reading on another poultry site that people are using collodial silver to treat infections in their birds with great success, especially eye infections.

Colloidal silver is used in hospitals to treat infected wounds that do not properly respond to antibiotic treatments. The silver is applied directly to the infected tissues. It must be in direct physical contact. Moisture from the wound pulls the silver off of the substrate that it comes on. It then helps to kill whatever is infecting the wound. Very effective to treat a yeast or fungal infection.
