Chicken Rules in Question

If you don’t even know the difference between oyster shell and grit what were you expecting?

People always say “never give your hen normal feed when she has chicks”. With my hens I find it benefits them to still have the normal feed. I mix half normal mix and half chick feed and it works out well. The chicks scavenge through the food and pick out the small bits of chick feed whilst my mum hen still gets her normal feed.

And furthermore I'm quite convinced oyster shell does aid in digestion.. I was looking into the matter since our last stunted discussion, and found an article on this site that says it does.

Do you really believe everything you hear or read? Cause I know we don’t.

I mix crumb and normal feed when I have chicks

You have to get smart and find out things for yourself cause we’re not always going to be around wasting our time caring for everyone else.
