Chicken run "accessories"

What else do you have in your run? Ya know, besides water, food, dust bath area, a perch or two.

What is your chickens' favorite item?

Overturned lawnchair. When you are away, they can perch on the back or hide under it. When you come in, flip it upright and you now have a clean place to sit with them.

i have a large black tote that was used as their brooder...now it's in the run, tipped over on its side... they love going in it and on it. When they hear me coming, they jump up on it to chirp at me.

Cool! I bought those plastic chairs, can never leave them out, they blow all over, very windy here. I can put them inside the chicken pen though. Thanks for a great idea.

I made steps out of treated lumber, instead of ramps. So the chickens like their "boardwalk" or even going under for some dustbathing in shade. When I visit them in the pen, I sit on it & they jump on my lap.

I have Gazebos for the chickens inside their pens (my pens are not shady, only covered with protective wire), they have a fun, shady perch & enjoy hanging out.

I hang corn cob & cabbage holders, they absolutely love their veggies treats elevated, clean & easy to peck.

Watermelons...well, too heavy to hang, but I made dog dish holders like this, remove the dog bowls, the sliced in half watermelons fit anchored inside the holes, no getting nasty on the ground.

I have an elevated log for the to perch/walk on, a couple of stumps, a small table, a chicknic table, and a ramp.

I like having stuff they can walk on or be under, to use some of the vertical space.
