Chicken RV Roosts

Hello!
My husband built a chicken tractor for me. He used a truck cap from a Ford Ranger pickup for the top. The cap has windows on all sides. We used heavy gauge chicken wire for the floor so the poo will fall thru and can be swept out below. The roosts are old broom handles sanded smooth. The chickens refuse to roost at night and sleep on the chicken wire floor. Is it because of the windows? It can't be good for them. I have even placed them on the roost. They free range during the day, so this is an overnight only situation. Any thoughts??

How old are they?
The broom handles might be a bit too small....aim for a minimum of 2" diameter.

I can't see any ventilation?

If there isn't enough ventilation, it would get very hot in there, especially with the windows. It's likely the ground is a lot cooler.
