Chicken Saddle Issue

Heys guys I just recently brought this chicken saddle from Amazon. My hen is terrified of it and she seems uncomfortable. She run around all over the place and doesn’t seem to stop. My rooster is also scared but he doesn’t attack. Should I still put the saddle on or no?

You don't want to stress her out by putting it on her, but you also don't want to stress her out by letting the rooster attack her. Could it be the color? Maybe something a bit more lightweight? I made a saddle for one of my chickens a few years back out of flannel material.

I have always assumed that feathers growing in are a little bit ouchy, so perhap that's a factor here. Otherwise, I have no rooster or saddle experience.
