I don't know where the proper place for this post is.
I'm looking for a chicken (and dog) safe ice melter. We've gotten so much ice this year. It's an ice path back to the chicken coop and the coop is surrounded by ice - making me scared to go tend to the chickens.
Do you know if the ice melter recipe on the internet is safe for chickens?
It calls for 1/2 gallon warm water, 1 table spoon of rubbing alcohol and 1 teaspoon Dawn dish soap. (I've seen it with various amounts of rubbing alcohol and dish soap though).
I imagine other dish soaps will do. I think Dawn probably puts out these recipes. There's a recipe for weed killer using dawn as well as ant killer.
