I have a micro project that I’ve been working on for a few years and their temperament is absolutely amazing. They pretty much hatch out of the eggshell already tamed. They love to be cuddled, picked up and are so loving that I almost step on at least one every day.
They are right underneath my feet or under me when I’m crouched to feed the floor pens. Did I mention that they get jealous of each other for attention? They are very chatty little birds, loving to their owner but the hens can be bossy towards each other. The hens are just as dang broody as a silkie and when one goes broody, it’s like a disease that spreads throughout the coop turning my cute little birds into screaming dinosaurs protecting their eggs. All I have to do is look at them in the nest and they are already screaming at me, it’s cute, really! They are all scream and no peck. The roosters are a doll, they flirt and raise saddle feathers in excitement of seeing me, they love being petted and cuddled and they make dedicated fathers too.
