We give our chickens scratch on occasion as a treat. My wife has two Toy Poodles, that love chicken scratch just as much as the chickens do. Whenever we throw it out for them, the two dogs are right there with them. The chickens are scratching and the dogs are pawing, untill it's all gone.

Hehehehehehe - how cute! My eldest dachshund (will be 13 years old this month) should have been named Hoover instead of Zorro, because he easts ANYtHING that falls to the ground. Treats tossed out for the chickens fall within that category!

The geese object to his thievery, but the chickens don't care.

We have a Corgi that would rather eat chicken feed than his Dog Food.

Drives me nuts.

Figure there is something in the chicken feed he needs, but it is probably jealousy based.

we raised a miniature vietnamese pot bellied piglet , Percy with our chickens from when they were 3 days old. as they grew up in the same yard it became impossible to prevent the pig from eating all the chicken and duck food and treats ...( not to mention he used the duck pool as a designated toilet

)...... we soon realized that Percy needed his own piggie yard.
once the chickens and ducks had their own yard they can actually enjoy the scratch and veggie / Fruit tablescraps .

Chicken scratch is a mix of cracked corn and other seeds that will entertain them more than give them any nutrition. It gives them something to scratch at since they are scavengers by nature lol

as far as whether or not its available in the UK- i couldnt think of any reason why it would not be availble... but if for some reason its not sold locally you can always make your own
