Hi All,
This morning I was holding my 6 month old Plymouth Rock when she suddenly started shaking her head and spitting out a clear liquid from her beak.
Some background information about this chicken:
- She has always been a healthy chicken and has been since we got when she was a week or two old
- She has just started laying eggs for approximately two weeks and is laying roughly 5 eggs a week
- Our chickens are normally relatively free ranging although we have just fertilized our lawn so they haven't been out of their coop (which is plenty large enough for the 3 of them) for the past few days
- This chicken has taken being cooped up especially hard and keeps trying to dig out of the coop
- The chickens always have access to enough food and water and are regularly given food scraps
It would be most greatly appreciated if anyone knows what this is or if it is possibly due to the stress caused by being cooped up for the few days.
Thanks in advance!
