Chicken shaking head at show

Is the fan blowing right at her? I think she is shaking her head because of all the noises. Is there anywhere you can take her that is quieter?

Yes, the fan is pretty much blowing right at her. When I take her outside (I found out I'm not supposed to do that but when you need more water and you are holding a chicken, what are you going to do? lol) I can't take her somewhere quieter.

Sometimes my chickens shake their heads when they recognise the noise that I make, i.e. when calling their names or making similar sound as my chickens calls.

So I guess it's likely to be a reaction to the sound produced in the show.

If you are interested to find out, you can play different sounds to that pullet and see which ones make her shaking her head.

That might be why she is shaking her head. It could be bothering her ears and eyes. When you brought her out, did she stop shaking her head?

There is a fan blowing air, and that may be it. There is a lot of noise in the barn where she is at. (Kids yelling, talking, screaming goats, screaming chickens, cages and gates opening)

Unfortunately, she has to stay at the show for another 5 days until I can take her home.

Cover her cage and post a "Do not Disturb, I'm Scared" sign. Most people will leave her alone. If you really need to get her out of there, ask the Fair's on-site vet. They will give her a thorough checkup and can grant an exception for early release.
