Chicken Spa Day!

I caught my 4 year old helping the chickens with their dirt bath. I asked her what she was doing and she replied, "massaging the chickens". She literally was taking handfuls of dirt and massaging it into their feathers and they were singing their happy hen song and stretching every time she takes her fingers through their feathers. She did this for about thirty minutes. I don't know what impressed me more: something other than Spongebob keeping her attention for thirty minutes or the fact that the chickens let (and seemed to enjoy) her do that to them. It's like they we're in a trance...lol. Btw...there are 3 chickens in this photo, they are just buried at this point...lol

I think chicken do go into a dust bath trance. Try picking one up in the middle of it, they are completely out of it....
