I think Sandy was around New York. But yes, lots of homes were raised all along the gulf coast, some 12 to 14 feet. We have 2 homes on our block that have elevators in the to get to the first they are so high up. LOL

Holy nose bleed, Batman! 12-14'! And I thought 8' was high.

The water in our neighborhood averaged 8', but that was due to a levee breach. Corps of Engineers says water in the intersection close to my house will only reach 4' , unless we have another levee breach. We had 5' inside the house for katrina and are preping for heavy street flooding due to Harvey. My heart goes out to the folks in Kansas City. Our 2nd story laundry will be preped tomorrow in case it needs to be used as a chicken coop. LOL Gotta do what you gotta do!
