Chicken Stuck Upside Down Help

You could try sewing some of the feathers together to keep the wing in the needed position. Two people needed for that and cant leave it on for very long. Also, an old long sleeved t-shirt arm, could be fashioned to pull over her whole body, you would need straps around front and back, sorta like a chicken back saver but bigger and all over. keep an eye on it, she may have lost circulation from being trapped and may have permanently damaged the nerves. In the end, if it looks like its permanent, maybe cutting the dragging feathers down will allow her to walk around unhampered . my 2 cents worth

We cut her flight feathers and she is so much happier. Grace11 brought up possible nerve damage which made me kick myself, I live with nerve damage and should have thought of that.

Bertha is with the flock during the day but in with us at night. She is still adjusting to having one useable wing so getting up onto the roosts and even up the ramp to the coop has become a challenge.
She is adjusting to her new position in the flock and there have been few squabbles about it. Even though we learned a lot through this I am glad it's over. Now to work on the duck that has gone lame
