chicken swallowed a necklace

This just happened to my chicken
i was dumb and left my chicken in a room alone for a couple minutes. when i came back, she had swallowed a really really reeeaallly important necklace. this happened on monday and it still hasnt come out. she has swallowed earrings and they would come back out but this is different since its larger and is long. do you think itll come out or should we go ahead and take her to the vet? i was planning on waiting a week to see if itll pass but im getting nervous. shes acting completely fine and doesnt seem to be in any pain or discomfort.
, we took her to the vet yesterday and got some X-rays done. She showed symptoms of a water belly, they poked needles in her to drain her bc she was so swollen and filled of liquid due to being unable to digest, poop, eat, and drink correctly and they said she has a necklace in her intestine. That puts issues on the way she functions. I’m sure it’s bc my mom lets her roam around in the garage without supervision. Sucks bc I can’t do anything about it. This was my only chicken and she was like a pet to us. She’s still alive but she isn’t doing too well and vet said she won’t live a long lifespan bc of it unless it comes out. Surgery won’t work bc she will 100% die. Poor chicken. Breaks my heart seeing her the way she is now.

You might have to decide which is more important, the necklace or the chicken! My guess is that the necklace will sustain some damage in her gizzard before it breaks down enough to pass out and down through her gut and be pooped out. I very much doubt that a vet would offer to operate to remove it from the gizzard because the risk of the chicken dying either from the anaesthetic or the surgery are very high and the cost of the surgery would probably be in excess of $1000. It is unlikely to still be in her crop now, unless you can feel it, in which case the sooner you get her to a vet's and get it out the better. Once it is beyond the crop it is too risky and expensive to try to remove.
I think you were extremely lucky to get the earring back the last time without damage or losing the chicken. I don't think you will be so lucky this time I'm afraid.
This same exact thing happened to my chicken. My mom leaves her unattended in the garage with food and water of course. My chicken started giving symptoms of water belly. She became so swollen on her abdomen and near her crotch that she had to get needles inserted in her to let some of the fluids out. Turns out..: after the x rays she has a necklace in her intestine. Vet said surgery would put her at risk 100% so they didn’t recommend. Do you have any idea how or what I could do to help get it out? Do you think they digest necklaces? She seems so sick off it idk what to do :( she changed so much and isn’t her same self anymore. She keeps building fluids up too bc she just can’t digest properly same with eating and drinking. Her poop is even more watery too with all the fluids she has in her. Green and yellowish

My chicken has a necklace right now stuck in her intestine according to what the vet said today. Will it pass and be pooped out or thrown up? What could I do. Vet said surgery isn’t an option bc she would 100% not survive.
Ima thinking it won’t pass. It will settle in somewhere. The crop or in the intestines. Most things breakdown during digestion but metal

My chicken
Metal takes a very long time to corrode in a digestive tract- you only see damage in situations where, for example, a dog swallowed something and it stayed in there for months.
Long objects are dangerous for animals to swallow because they can cause the intestines to tangle.
There's not really anything you can do at this point. You could take her to the vet and X-ray to see where it is, but I'm not sure a vet could say anything other than "well, it's in there".
Which brings up an important point; did you actually see her swallow it? Are you sure it's in the chicken and not just on the floor somewhere?
, we took my chicken to the vet and turns out they did X-rays on her and she has a necklace in her intestine. Will she eventually be able to digest it or pass it? Maybe throw it up or poop it out? What could I do?

Give her apple cider vinegar in water and chopped up tomatoes. The acidity will help break down the metal and hopefully your chicken will survive.
But what if the necklace isn’t metal? What’s if it’s cheat metal will it still break down? I’ll give that a try but would it cause toxicity or parasites in her?

Or you could euthanise the chicken before she suffers and get your necklace back.
Honestly we could care less about the necklace and getting it back is the the last of our worries. The chicken is a pet to us so it matters much more. Really hoping she passes it. I will try your idea. Scared it affects her though or causes damage.

It could help break it down so it doesn’t cause physical damage or obstruction to her digestive tract leading to death, which is the primary concern right now. I’m not sure about metal poisoning if she does survive. I don’t think she’ll get parasites from it though. How is she doing?
