I am a horse owner before a chicken owner.

But Rhett and I need very little since I am limited on time and such.

Every year I tell the dh I want to get a tent. And he gives me grief.

I think once I start working regularly again I will be investing in one

I got the fudge and cookies done. Working on the last project Friday i9f I am not working. Orientation is tonight, but I have no clue when actual work begins.

As far as chicks and warmth.. Usually body heat or keep them in the car as much as possible. I dont have any coming with me or going home with me this time. Although a Flemish giant has been on my wish list.

Dh would be so not pleased with me. 4 rabbits in the house would probably push him over the edge. I so need him to build some hutches.

I am a horse person and would love to make it to these swaps. But, 9-noon is when I am doing all my barn work.

Mornings are just not a good time for me.

Just wanted to throw out there that you could probably use the Hot Hands heat packs in with baby chicks. Has anyone tried it? Maybe under a towel if it's too hot for them to be right on.

Those are a bit too warm if the box isnt large enough ,
There is a different type and maybe Dave can help me out here , they are used for shipping plants in cold weather.

when I ordered Orchids from Texsas and the lower states they came with hte plants to keep them from freeing.
I wsh I had kept a pack so I could tell you the name.
but they work like the hot hands/feet but with out the excessive heat. made specifically for small boxed plants.

Good morning Gypsy

That makes sense. I just figured since they aren't too warm for us they might be OK for chicks. Since they are cheap and easy to get it would have been a nice option. Thank you for pointing out that they are too warm for the chickies.
