so, one last thing before I go to bed. our muscovy duck has made a nest under the ramp for the coop. she is a first timer and has a shortcut for lining the nest with feathers. a chicken went to investigate. she got too close. next thing I see is the chicken scrambling while being pulled backwards by the duck. I was just about to go in for a rescue when the duck plucked a feather from the chicken to put into the lining of her nest. why pluck out your own if there is a way around it. I picture the duck saying " did it hurt? I didn't feel a thing!"

if anyone is looking for bantam cochins or cochin crosses i will have some 13 week olds with me-pullets and cockerels! i will also have a bantam blue salmon faverolles cockerel who has been a sweet boy (hard for me to part with him

) i also have a self blue d'uccle cockerel who's been a little picked on and doesn't look like he has a tail at the moment.

ChickMagnet, i got a pic of that cochin/polish cross but i realized it is on the camera and not on the disk i transfer them to this PC with. i will be bringing it with me tomorrow so you can take a look up close. i'm thinking it is a cockerel but i could be wrong and would like a second or third opinion.

I had FUNNNNNNN !!! Was cold but fun to hang with my chicken friends. We always seem to have so much fun even if its crapy out !!

just got back from my beauty treatment and dinner out with my favorite man.

. now I know who the crazy diehard chicken people are. I

to the inventor of tents the go up and down fast. I am wrapped in a blanket trying to thaw out

. I hope I defrost so I can start over tomorrow morning. still have a good selection of eggs for tomorrow. someone should save me from myself and buy them so I am not tempted to hatch them
