Yes, however I believe they need to be at least a week old to do so. You probably wont need a heat lamp. I did bring mine the first time I sold and didn't end up using it. I had the little ones in covered clear rubbermaid containers with vent holes. If I needed it I was planning on plugging it into an adaptor that I have for the aux outlets in my van. It would drain the battery though.

hi rachel,
the swap rules are on the chicken swaps of nh web site. all chicks need to come from npip tested flocks and they need to be a minimum of 7 days old to be sold at a chicken swaps of nh swap. you may now sell any quantity. many of us will not sell less than 3 because we feel that to be in the best interest of the chicks.
I use a power inverter to run my brooder lights. these are available at car parts stores. they plug in to a cigerette lighter. they do run down your battery but in the fall it is a necessity. last spring one of out people brought a generator that we all plugged in to. that was fantastic.

had a great day at the swap yesterday. promised myself I wouldn't look around so that I would not get myself in trouble. like all well meant plans, it went amuck. nh nanna brought a bird she had just bought over to show me. it was beautiful!!!!! unfortunately she also mentioned that they had more. oh **** now I have to go look at them. soooo cheryl now has some new blood lines to add to her millie fleur cochin flock and now I also own a pair of these little bantam beauties. the gentleman who sold them said he purchased the parent stock at a poultry show. the colors on these are outstanding. I recently added a dark red cochin frizzle to my flock. I am planning on breeding him to the millie hen to see what I get. these birds are young so they will not be bred till next season.

thankyou cheryl for being my partner in crime.

If you want something that takes MUCH LESS POWER the Brinsea EcoGlow 20 is a great little brooder heater. 2 watts.... count them... 1, 2! I use them at home and have one in the coop right now. Only been using it at night these days, the chicks are just going on two weeks. Everybody's happy!
