I took a few pictures of my legbar rooster. he was such a ham. he loved the camera.
He is nice and chunky and his color is not bad from what I can see and he may lighten up a bit as he gets older. He is definitely beefier than his dad...boy do I wish that rooster were still around

. I do have 2 in my bunch of young'uns that I think I will definitely hold on to from the same daddy and another 5 to sift through. Some of the combs have a twist and some are straighter so I think that's why the comb is just a fault as you can breed straight from it. You'll need to get him some CL girls so you can see what he throws... and I'd love to follow along.

Love it! His brothers are turning out super, but of course don't have the little crest and I think yours is broader, better width across the body. And he obviously adores you, which I love.

The little puffy-crested CL baby rooster is still inside, and we'll probably keep him in for the winter. He's getting big, but we love him so much that I don't want to risk him out in the cold.
he is broader because I am very good at getting things to eat. lol. tonight they got hot mash with some bacon fat and DE. figured it was time to worm everyone. boy did that vanish fast.

you will have to post a photo of the little guy. I bet he is a looker.

I think the boys found the right homes.

did you hatch this guy? someday he will have matching girls. this season I am going to be creative with him.

Yes, she's the lovely person I got them from. I need to go take pictures of my guys for her - I won't be using them purebred either, at least not this year, but they're going to have some fun :).

I honestly love them darker; when they get really light they look like Jaerhons to me. So I will be a terrible Legbar user and cross them up the yin-yang and breed 'em dark and striking!

What we'll be swapping in spring: I have about ten of the above, in various colors - they're serama moms x SQ silver-laced bantam cochin dad. They're going to spend the winter under a broad, fat (!) black silkie. I should be drowning in smooth sizzles by the time the first swap comes around. That's bantam pen 1; I have at least three other bantam pens and an as-yet-undetermined number of large fowl pens. Getting excited!
