Chicken vs Cat...

My little 6 week old roo was chasing the big scary cat all over the yard yesterday. He was having the time of his life. Couldn't wait for her to settle down in a new spot and then he'd run over at her and she'd get up and run, with him chasing her all over the place. She's so big, and he's so little. It was funny!

I had a roo that would just assume kill a cat then look at it. Finished off 3 trying to get to his girl friends. Funny thing is he was only a bantam! Down fall is he thought he could win against a 120lbs bulldog. I miss that bird.

My cats give my chickens a wide berth. They let the chickens eat their food. The turkeys do whatever the h*** they want. I think the turkeys would eat my chihuahua if given the chance.

I have a fair sized tomcat. If him and a chicken or duck even a baby one are about to cross paths he stops and yields the right of way. He will let chicks or ducklings walk all over him. He has fear of the adult birds though. Wild birds he figures are fair game. He really terrorizes them.

Last night the neighbors cat started into the coop to eat the food I left out for Roo and Chickie. Roo was on an outside perch just watching the cat....he didnt seem to be concerned. I ran out and chased the cat away.
