Our one chickens wings are hanging down and she seems to be weak in the legs. Is eating and drinking. Any idea what is wrong with her.

Yeah, I was going to suggest vitamins to! Vitamin B may be the best.

she is 6 months old - barred rock - she has been ill for a week now.....we gave her deworming and her poop is green/black with white....looks normal.

At six months old you can graduate her to layer feed. She might not be getting enough nutrients from the starter anymore; calcium is the biggest difference between the two and she will struggle to form eggs on starter/grower.

You could try a combination of Vit. E 400IU and Vitamin B complex. Squirt the oil in one vitamin E capsule right on tip of beak- it will roll down and she should reflexively swallow, if not squirt right into her mouth. Crush a quarter of the vitamin b complex tablet and add to some water, use an eye dropper to administer or a syringe without the needle (pharmacies will often just give you one, 3-5ml sized works great) then crush another half of the vitamin b and add it to her regular water source.

Edited to add - you can get both of these at Wal-Mart/Target. I know CVS and Riteaid often have buy one get one free on vitamins.

I forgot to add, after she's had her vitamins try offering some boiled or scrambled egg. It will help her interest in eating and get her the Selenium she needs to properly process the vit. E!
