Chicken wire and ducklings?

We went with the GP after getting our fainting goats and that breeder reccomended the GP over a Meramma. Now we have two GP, a male outside full time and a female inside with the baby who is also just as wonderful.

I wouldn't use any thing less then the 1/2 inch welded wire. He's a little guy now make it smaller and safer for now, you can always expand later. I sort of done mine backwards I should of build the coop first then the pen. My fully grown ducks free range during the day so a secure coop for night time should of been my first step. Some people use dog houses with doors for their coop which is a secure option for night time. Then you could close them up in that at night. Your duckling will grow and unless you plan to keep your adult duck in the house at night you need a very secure night time enclosure.

Okay I will use hardware clothe.
Woah!
You guys started a whole new conversation while I was asleep!
And CelticOakFarms I did not mean that to sound mean but I know what you mean and you are right.
If you sugar coat it no one will get the mesage you are sending and won't do anything about the problem.
(I was going to post a link to one of my other questions but when I went to the page I saw you already beat me to it

We can get a little intense because of all the heartache we have seen and shared. Glad you are with us!

My duckling is getting so big.

I wish he would stay small and fluffy forever!
(I just started a thread with his pictures.)

But then you would miss all the fantastic things he will do as an adolescent, then as an adult! Really, you lose some of the baby cuteness, but grown ducks are something else!

My runners, buffs and I just went on a walk. Really, it was a slugfest. A feast of slugs for them, and a pleasant morning. I am so pleased with the way they forage, and impressed with how they know how to get the better of me sometimes, challenging me about which way to go and when. Elfie trots up to me for pets, Romy sasses me, fluffs up her shoulders, and swaggers away.

Thanks.
But it was just 11 days ago and he could fit in the palm of my hand.
Now I have to hold him with both hands and he still pooches out a little.

 they grow literally over night into very big ducks. Enjoy all the stages and look forward to be an adult when you can sit and watch them run around in the yard.

Glad you didn't get offended, better to warn and prevent in my book.
