Why that?

The use of antibiotics can sometimes create an opportunity for fungal infection. When antibiotics enter your system they attack the bad bacteria that are making you sick. But they can also destroy the good bacteria in your system, creating an opening for fungal infection. The bacteria that are supposed to protect against various fungi have been destroyed by the antibiotic.

The Baytril will not treat anaerobic bacteria either, so that's something to consider. Again, a vet consult is best.

Well, the anaerobic test was recommended by a pathologist. But she didn't have a clue. The chief pathologist at the lab i did the testing at said anaerobic won't do any good. My vet said to cull, because this is out of her expertise... She doesn't know anyting. I will get in touch with more pathologists/vets/ state vets to get a 2nd/3rd/4th opinion. I will not give up. If my treatments start to make her suffer. I will cull. But she's a tough little cookie... so, i will be too.

The anaerobic testing was done because it was recommended by one of the pathologists that wasn't involved in my hen's case. Anaerobic showed NOTHING.

Her test results are in. She has gram negative and gram positive bacteria. She also has saprophytic fungus... i have read up on it a little. Not sure if there's hope to cure. Just wanted to update y'all.
