Chicken with bad infection on mouth/face (was Vitamin B complex injectable dosage for chicken)

Btw i don't know what portuhu means. Lol
I have started her on a dose of 0.4ml twice a day enrofloxacin yesterday morning.

The Enrofloxacin i have says 100g/l. Math says for a 4lb hen, that makes 0.4ml?

Double check my math, but I think that 100 g/l = 100 mg/ml

Dose is 10 mg/kg twice a day
Math: 4 / 2.2 (convert to kg) x 10 (mg/kg) / 100 (mg/ml) = 0.18 ml twice a day.

I believe mine is 10mg/ml

Well, she's getting 0.4ml twice a day and seems to be responding well to it.

Your enrofloxacin is 100 mg/ml, and I'll try to explain why...

100 g = 100000 mg
1 liter = 1000 ml

So what you have is 100000 mg/1000 ml, right?
100000 / 1000 = 100, right? So your product is 100 mg/ml, not 10 mg/ml.

Another thing to consider is most enrofloxacin products are 100 mg/ml, 50 mg/ml, 22.7 mg/ml, and 25 mg/ml. I have never seen a 10 mg/ml product.

IMO, you are giving way too much. I suggest calling your vet and ask them how much you should be giving.

A pharmacy tech who specializes in compounding techniques with 15 years experience advised me on the dosage. So far she's active and the pus infection gone. So, i think it's working.

Did you tell her the dose is supposed to be 10 mg/kg?
