Hi guys,

So my chickens had their first major fight, at least it's never been this serious. My alpha got sick and my beta wyandotte decided to take advantage. She suddenly became broody yesterday and this morning attacked her.
Do I need to take the victim into the vet ? I normally would anyway, but she just had a traumatic couple of days. She had an egg stuck the day before yesterday and had to have it manually removed by a vet. Then yesterday I took her in again because she was acting the same erratic way. The vet said she looked good and had no injuries from the egg, she was just in distress.

So she is very stressed at the moment. I am making sure she is eating and drinking. Is she going to be okay healing on her own ? I did put some neosporin on her booboos

The attacker has been quarantined in time out and will be rehomed asap.
Thank you so much for any advice

Thank you so much ! We only have a few hens and love and care about them lots. We are always worrying ! Great to know they are much more resilient then they seem !

Hello! Welcome to Backyard Chickens!!:welcome Glad you joined the flock! Yes, her beak will definitely heal. I have had chickens with worse injuries such as one time a possum attacked my Barred rock, she was in awful shape! Now she has healed and is a lot better.

She occasionally pecks around and has some food in her crop, and is drink some water. But is mostly resting, laying on the ground. Since the one who went after her is in timeout, it's just her and one other. Who she will fallow, and then lay down once the other hen finds a place to peck. And about 7:30 pm she went into the coop by herself to sleep on her normal perch. Usually though they start perching on the outside of the coop and I have to put them in by hand.

Is this normal behavior for a hen who has been through a few rough days ?
Her comb is a nice bright red and looks good, other then her booboos. No new blood so that's good. It all seems to be crusting black/dark red.
I think she is okay, just recovering. But would love to have reassurance !
Thank you all !!!:)

I think she'll be fine. Just make sure none of the others peck at it.

Update.
Lily's beak is not doing well. It seems to be coming off in layers. And it just keeps getting smaller. What can I do to help ? I know chicken beaks grow, but hers is deteriorating faster then it can grow back.
She only eats soft wet chick food. If I don't give her any, her crop is empty. I don't know if this is because she is having a hard time picking things up or because it's painful.
And please no replies saying she will be fine. She is not. And needs help. Any and all help is very welcom ! Thanks

Thank you Chicks are Life. Love the name by the way. Completely true !
I have been giving her wet chick food as that's all she will really eat. Sometimes mushed cooked peas. I just got some chicken electrolytes and will put that in their water today.
She seems to be getting slightly worse everyday. I think I am going to stop or at drastically cut down on free range time. maybe if she isn't pecking at dirt and things, it will heal faster ?
She only pecks very lightly. But her beak looks very fragile.
