Hey everyone, I have a chicken who I have been housing at a different location temporarily. I went to visit my chickens there and I noticed that one of them had a crack in her beak as well as a bruise. I’m concerned about it and I need some advice on what to do. She is acting normal besides that, But I know that chickens use there beak for the majority of their living, so I really hope there is something I can do for her. She is one of the 5 chickens I plan to move out with me. I’m not exactly sure how long she has had it but I didn’t notice it a week ago when I saw her. I am moving so I’ve needed to keep her at a different location but she is with her flock and separated from the other chickens housed there. I have attached some pictures of her beak. Anything on helping her will be much appreciated! Thanks!

It would be best to cage her. Provide a deep bowl and mix a watery gruel of water and layer feed for her to eat. Keep it watery at all times or the feed will absorb the water and thicken. You dont want her to peck anything hard or it may cause further injury and pain.
The beak will heal and regrow in time. It might take a couple of weeks or longer, be patient. Ensure you clean her cage as best as you can.
You can also add a couple of drops on Poultry Nutri Drench only once or twice a week to the mixture if you wish. Too much will cause diarrhea as it is rich in vitamins and minerals and contains molasses.

Give her mash like pellets and soft fruits, ect; strawberry and if you spot any cuts or winds, put antiseptic on them and for the meantime, just keep watching her/he and they will heal soon.
