Chicken with enlarged liver.

I have a 4 year old white leghorn who seemed lethargic to me. Thought she was egg bound so I took her to the vet. No egg binding was noted. He did an xray and said her liver was very enlarged and she had fluid constricting her air sacks. He offered no treatment option except putting her down. Any thoughts or suggestions?

PLEASE TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR HEN. I took mine in today and the vet said the same thing....
