Wow I just read all this and I’m so sorry for your losses.

Oh no! That is terrible! Post some pix if you can of your coop as suggested by @staceyj and hopefully the mystery of how the predator is getting your chicks can be solved. Once your coop is fortified against predators, you can maybe start again with some pullets, before your winter weather arrives.

Alright, this may sound stupid and may not be at all possible, but what if the other chicken turned cannibale. Since it was the hurt one that went missing it seems more probable. When I was like 6 I had an overly small chicken with a broken leg that disappeared with the remains in the center of the coop, that is what I decided happened.

I love a good mystery too, but sadly in this particular situation, I do believe a predator took the last chicken.
In the first post, the OP mentions that something took all her chickens except for 2. Both were injured, one very badly and it died, so that left a lone chicken (if I read the thread correctly). I am going to have to assume that the remaining chicken was also taken by a predator.
